Training Ears to Stand

If you want your chi's ears to stand but they seem to have different plans, there are a few ways you can help. However chi's ears will tend to droop when they are stressed or when they are teething.

There are a couple of ways that you can help to train your chi's ears to stand. One of the most common ways is to tape the ears up. To do this, take duct tape and cut it into a strip about 1/2 wide by 3 inches long.
Put the middle of the tape in the middle, left to right and top to bottom, of the front of the ear.

Wrap both ends over the edges of the ear and secure on the back of the ear.

Only leave this on for 2 days, then remove it for two days and re-tape if needed. Follow this 2 day cycle till they stand.

Another method is to glue the ears. To do this, use nail glue and run a small amount down the inner edge of the ear from the tip of the ear to the bottom next to the head. Raise the other ear and press them together edge to edge until the glue sets. This will pull apart on its own after several days.

You can also use eyelash glue to glue a peice of foam to the inside of the ear.

If, by the edge of 8 months your chi's ears are still floppy, get used to it. Chances are that they will never stand.
